Gun aficionado loses right to bear arms after road rage incident

63-year-old Leonard Roscitto, of Hailey, Idaho will spend 19 days in jail, pay a $1,000 fine, be on probation for three years and lose his right to bear arms after being found guilty of firing at least two shots at another motorist in a road-rage incident.
The incident took place last August when Rosicotto and John Kauder had a confrontation that started on state Highway 75. According to court documents, both men stopped their vehicles and Roscitto got out of his vehicle, pulled out a handgun and fired at least two shots in the direction of Kauder.
Roscitto apologized to the court saying, "I've never thought about doing anything like that. I would never premeditate anything like that, but it did happen. I am extremely sorry for what did happen."
Rosicotto is described as a "gun aficionado". His attorney said that losing his gun rights is the worst punishment of all for Rosicotto.

  1. Carrying guns has not made society less polite or more aggressive. The complete lack of personal accountability and responsibility, beginning in grade school, is what has made this society rude, selfish and aggressive.
I wear athletic shoes, that doesn't make me more likely to run a marathon.
Cars cause more deaths and injuries every year than guns. Are you going to try and outlaw cars?

  2. The study cited on the right from Accident Analysis and Prevention concludes that "motorists who have ridden with firearms in their vehicles are more likely to make obscene gestures at other drivers and to follow other drivers aggressively." Behavior that is both less polite and more aggressive.
And who is trying to outlaw guns? Regulate, yes; outlaw, no.
